HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver

£44,000 per annum | Full-Time, Permanent

Meadow Waste Ltd is looking for an experienced, reliable and professional HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver to join our growing transport operation.

This is a permanent, salaried position offering £44,000 per annum, with a varied workload across both vacuum tanker and curtainsider operations.

Working Pattern

The role is predominantly Monday to Friday, with an expectation to work approximately one Saturday per month.

There will also be occasional nights out depending on operational requirements.

As the business and fleet continue to expand, some additional weekend flexibility may be required in the future. Any changes to the regular working pattern would be communicated as the operation develops.

The Role

The position will involve a combination of:

  • Vacuum tanker work: transporting liquid waste and feedstock materials between customer and processing sites.
  • Curtainsider work transporting palletised goods, IBCs and other materials.
  • Carrying out daily vehicle and equipment checks.
  • Ensuring loads are transported safely and securely.
  • Completing all required paperwork and driver records accurately.
  • Working in accordance with Drivers’ Hours, Working Time Directive and company procedures.
  • Maintaining a high standard of vehicle care and cleanliness.
  • Representing Meadow Waste professionally when dealing with customers, suppliers and sites.

Previous vacuum tanker experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants must hold:

  • Full Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence
  • Valid Driver CPC
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, flexible and takes pride in both their vehicle and their work.

Due to the nature of our operation, applicants should be comfortable with a role that involves more than simply driving. Tanker work requires a practical, hands-on approach, and full training will be provided on our equipment and operating procedures.
